Fort Myers is known as The City of Palms and was made famous by Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Impressed by the tropical climate and natural beauty, Edison spent his winters in Fort Myers as thousands of visitors do each season today. Taking a day trip to explore the Edison/Ford museums is always quite a treat.

Downtown Fort Myers is located on the Caloosahatchee River, and is the oldest city in Lee County. Historic downtown brings back the flavor of old Florida. Take an afternoon to stroll the cobblestone streets and dine in one of the many restaurants. Cute little boutique shops are nestled throughout and park benches line the riverfront so you can end your day with a beautiful view of the sunset.

Fort Myers is home to a few major league baseball Spring Training facilities including Fenway South, the Jetblue Park, where you will find the Boston Red Sox gearing up for season. As well as the Hammond Stadium which host’s spring training for the Minnesota Twins.
